Benefits

Prime Shield can be used to prime metal substrates with excellent adhesion and corrosion resistance. The primer can then be top coated with various coatings including alkyds, epoxies, urethanes, acrylics, lacquers, and water-based products.

Surface Preparation

The surface should be free of dirt, oil, grease, and foreign contaminants. Rusty areas should be wire brushed or sandblasted before applying Prime Shield.

Application Methods

Prime shield can be applied with air, airless, air assisted, and siphon type spray equipment. It is also available in aerosol cans.

Thinning is typically not necessary.

Dry Times

Cure Conditi­ons:
70ºF / 21ºC @ 50% RH
Recoat:
2 - 4 hours

Clean-Up

Clean with lacquer thinner or MEK.
